When a customer replaces the private side lead service line, the public side of the lead service line will be replaced at no cost to the homeowner.

A water service line is a small, buried pipe that brings water from water mains in the streets into homes and other buildings. If any part of the line is lead, it can release lead into your drinking water. Providence Water wants to replace all lead service lines in the communities we serve to decrease lead in drinking water.

Free Accelerated Lead Service Line Replacement Program

Thanks to federal grant and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Funding, Providence Water customers may be eligible for FREE private side lead service replacements. Check our Lead Service Location Map to learn if your property is eligible for a free lead service line replacement.

Eligible customers are encouraged to sign up HERE. In order to complete the private side lead service replacement, eligible customers are required to fill out a Right of Entry form allowing Providence Water contractors access to your home.

0% Interest 10-Year Loan

For those who are not eligible for the Free Lead Service Line Replacement, Providence Water is offering 10-year 0% interest loans to homeowners to assist with the replacement of their private-side lead service lines. When a homeowner replaces the private portion of the lead service line, Providence Water will replace the public portion of the lead service line at no cost to the homeowner.

Call our Water Quality Hotline at (401) 521-6303 to request an agreement for Providence Water’s 10-year 0% interest loan program. Under the terms of this loan, a $5,500 replacement will cost $46 per month.
