Water Quality Annual Report
In 1996, when Congress amended the SDWA, it included a provision requiring all community water systems to deliver to their consumers a brief summary of their water quality. The Water Quality Report (WQR) is a report on the quality of drinking water supplied by your utility over the past year. It includes some basic information on source of supply, levels of any detected contaminants, and some general educational material.
The first report must be delivered to consumers by October 19, 1999 and by July 1st of each successive year. The WQR is not intended to be a technical report, but rather an exercise in communication. The EPA felt that a report full of technical terms or one that showed all contaminants tested for, but not found, would tend to discourage consumer interest.
Providence Water completed its first WQR in April 1999. A complete copy of our most recent report is available here.
