On April 30, 2021, Providence Water filed with the RI Public Utilities Commission a compliance filing to implement the second step of a change in rates approved by the Commission in Dk. 4994.  The second step rate increase is proposed to take effect on July 1, 2021.  A residential retail customer using 100 HCF (74,800 gallons) of water annually will have an increase in their monthly bill of $2.21, or 5.5%.  The rate impact on other retail, wholesale, and fire service customers will vary based on customer class and consumption levels.  The proposed rates are designed to collect an additional $4,310,146 in revenue to support Providence Water's total cost of service of $89,309,453.
