For the 2021 construction season (late-March through November), 93,000 linear feet (about 17.5 miles) of Providence Water Distribution Mains will be rehabilitated in 6 service areas in our system (Washington Park, Providence; Upper South Providence, Providence; Charles, Providence; Blackstone, Providence; Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence; and Auburn, Cranston). Permanent restoration for Providence Water's 2020 construction areas will begin in the Blackstone section of Providence and the Edgewood and Auburn sections of Cranston.
This work may disrupt normal traffic and require temporary by-pass water service connections for customers. These projects are part of Providence Water's Infrastructure Rehabilitation Program to reinvest in our system, replace and rehabilitate aging infrastructure, and continue to provide reliable, safe and clean drinking water to our customers. If you have any questions regarding these projects and need to speak to a representative please visit our Contact Us page.
