Providence Water maintains a number of documents, guidelines and forms for developers, builders, engineers and homeowners. You will need to familiarize yourself with these documents before starting any project which involves water service to the property.

Service Inspections

All service lines installed by the applicant from the curb stop to the building MUST be inspected by Providence Water prior to backfilling. Service will NOT be turned on until the lines are inspected by Providence Water.

Please note, couplings are NOT allowed from the curb stop to the meter location.
Service inspections MUST be scheduled by the applicant at least 48 hours in advance of installation by calling Providence Water's Construction Services Division at (401) 521-6300, ext. 7102 during normal business hours (8:30am- 3:30pm).

You can also email serviceinspection@provwater.com to request an appointment. Someone MUST respond with a confirmation of the appointment. Voicemails will NOT be accepted as official appointments. Please dial the operator to speak to someone that can help you.
