Water Quality Overview

Providence Water owns and operates a Rhode Island Department of Health certified Water Quality Laboratory which is located at the Philip J. Holton Water Purification Plant in Scituate, Rhode Island. The mission of this laboratory is to administer a water quality monitoring and quality control program, to ensure that Providence Water is maintaining a safe and potable water supply for our customers that meets all state and federal drinking water standards. The lab collects and analyzes over 150 samples from 43 locations within our retail area every month. Additionally, it actively monitors the Scituate Reservoir and its tributary sources.
